Partitioned the disk occording to the guide at http://g300nh.blogspot.com/2010/06/software-installation-on-dd-wrt-part-1.html and everything with opkg seams to work.<br /><br />After installing everything occording to this guide and putting in the final command line i get nothing: <br /><br />root@DD-WRT / $ smbd -s /opt/etc/samba/smb.conf<br />root@DD-WRT / $<br /><br />and it seams like something might be running:<br />root@DD-WRT / $ ps | grep smbd<br /> 1985 root 2624 S N smbd -s /opt/etc/samba/smb.conf<br /> 5248 root 1452 S grep smbd<br /><br />but i cant even get to the login screen. I installed Samba through opkg and re copied my config files (as they were overwritten when I reinstalled samba), then ran the ORIGINAL samba and had the problem. It would randomly start saying the shares were empty and other stupidity.<br /><br />In the end I figured, since most tutorials here have you installing OpenWRT packages, why not just install OpenWRT?<br /><br />It's literally two commands from the console to flash it to OpenWRT, documented on their Wiki.
